REQUEST TO THE EMMAUS COMMUNITY
WEEKEND PHOTOGRAPHERS NEEDED

Dear Emmaus Community Members,

The Emmaus Community is in need of volunteers to be weekend photographers.  In the past we have had a couple of volunteers who took this form of agape on themselves and volunteered each and every weekend.  This sacrifice was amazing and very much appreciated.  These individuals have stepped down from doing this after many years and it seems that we are now struggling each weekend to find someone to fill the photographer shoes.

We are hoping to compile a list of many volunteers so the Agape Coordinator of each weekend can choose from that list and the same volunteer will not continuously be called.

The procedure for the photographer is as follows....

Weekend photos are taken on Friday mornings of the weekend.

Hand out paper plates with a number on one side and the name of the Pilgrim/Team Member on the reverse side.  (The plates and frames are provided for you)

Pilgrims are numbered 1-24....Team begins at number 26.  #25 is left open in case we have an extra Pilgrim for any reason.

Arrange Pilgrims and Team Members so everyone's face can be seen.  Pilgrims are the main concern - should be in the front.

Have them hold their paper plate Number Side Out covering their face.

Make certain each plate number can be seen.  Take several shots.

Then take photo without the plates.

Take the film or digital file to the Photo Dept. at a local Wal-Mart.

Make 50 4x6 color prints.  (In the past we always printed 5x7's.  This has become quite expensive so we have changed to 4x6.)

Print in landscape orientation.

Use light tracing paper.  Trace around the head and shoulders of each person in the picture.

Write in the corresponding number on the tracing.

Type names in numerical order with position titles included with Team Members' names. (Refer to your own weekend picture if this is not clear). There is a template for the layout of the names that can be provided if needed.

Make 50 plain paper copies of the tracing and names.

Cut to fit in the bi-fold picture frame.

Paste tracing/names on inside upper flap of the picture frame. (A quality adhesive spray is recommended - 3 M makes a good product).

Then insert pictures in frames and deliver to a team member at Candlelight.

**We certainly have individuals who have done this many times who would be happy to help make this more clear if necessary.
